Effects

Atomic Northern Lights is a creeper, slowly taking you into its caress before blowing up on you. It starts off with a slight body tingle or buzz, which eventually transitions into an enhanced though distorted sensory experience that can be characterized as psychedelic and dream-like. Atomic Northern Lights is an indica dominant hybrid strain with a ratio of 65% indica to 45% sativa. Its THC potency averages between 14% and 24%, and also offers around 1% CBD. It is an inbred version of Northern Lights, backcrossed with the original strain along with a cross with its ancestors, Thai Haze and an Afghani landrace. The original Northern Lights is a pure indica strain, and is one of the most popular strains on the market. Its THC levels average between 23% and 27%, and is super popular for its potent, sedative nature. It is a descendent of Afghani (also known as Afghan Kush) which is also a pure indica, offering 15% to 18% THC and 1% CBD as well. Thai Haze, on the other hand, is a sativa dominant hybrid with a ratio of 80% sativa to 20% indica with THC levels averaging around 21% potency. 

Appearance & Aroma

While indicative of its heavy high, the grandiose name of Atomic Northern Lights doesn’t reflect its appearance. The nuggets of this strain tend to be on the smaller to medium side, and is densely packed with chunky bits, similar to popcorn! It’s a mossy green with bright orange pistils, and covered with a sticky and generous coating of crystal trichomes. Its aromas are strongly woody and earthy, reminiscent of pine, with undertones of spicy hash and smokiness. Some users also note hints of florals. When smoked, users will taste a blend of pepper and pine. It can also be pungent and harsh on the eyes, so isn’t a strain to be discreet with!
