The Red Congolese has been so popular in its own right that it has been crossed and used to produce further strains like Red Lemon Congo, a sativa-dominant hybrid that can reach 28% THC potency, created by interbreeding with the just as delicious Super Lemon Haze, which itself is a sativa-dominant hybrid and a two-time High Times Cannabis Cup winner.
The Red Congolese buds display a beautiful array of deep shades of fire reds and oranges amongst mint green. The flowers are nice and fluffy, and are covered in a sticky, syrup-like resin and a layer of frosty trichomes. While it can look intimidating with its fiery ambers, it is actually quite a tasty strain. There is the typical earthy cannabis scent to it, though Red Congolese also has a smell of sweet nuttiness, and many often notice a cheese scent.
