We’re not talking about frozen dessert here, though this strain named after the delightful treat, an indica-dominant hybrid, is just as delectable as the favourite summertime cake! The Ice Cream Cake strain is a crossbreed between the strains, Gelato #33 and Wedding Cake. As its namesake implies, this particular strain is one sweet treat with hints of vanilla, nut, and a creamy cheese flavour. With a THC content level that can average up to 25%, this strain is as delicious as it is potent, often putting users into a state of couch-lock, perfect for evenings or pre-bedtime usage. Effects of Ice Cream Cake

Ice Cream Cake starts off as a cerebral high as it lifts your mood and puts you in a state of pure happiness before making its way to your body as a physical high. As a more indica dominant strain, this physical high is perhaps where it works best as users experience couch-lock. Feeling utterly relaxed, users will sink deeper and deeper into bliss–and the couch–as the high wears on, making this strain more so ideal for night time usage and for those battling with insomnia. Because of its sedation-like ability to relieve the body, this strain would also be ideal for those combating physical ailments like chronic pains, nausea and muscle spasms. THC Content

Ice Cream Cake is rather dominant on the indica side with a ratio to sativa of 75%:25%. Its THC content level averages between 20% to 25% so it is rather potent, just like its parent, Wedding Cake, which itself averages highs of 25% in THC content as well. Its other parent, Gelato #33 (itself a cross between other dessert strains, Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies), is a bit lower at 22% potency on average, though both parent strains, two indica dominant hybrids in themselves, can pack quite a punch, which would explain the heavy sedated experience users can get from Ice Cream Cake.

Appearance & Aroma

The nugs of Ice Cream Cake are densely packed, and are a beautiful shade of light and dark forest greens with fiery copper-orange and speckled purple pistils–the strain is as tasty as it looks. Some users report a sugary dough flavour, and can often be pungent like most marijuana strains, though more common flavour notes of the strain include a sweet combination of vanilla and nut, as well as a yummy cream cheese goodness. This characteristic has perhaps led some to believe that one of its parents may actually be another dessert strain, the Cheese Cake! I have to say that I enjoyed the high of the current Wedding Cake F4 more than this, but to each their own. This is clearly a top shelf flower grown with love and any craft cannabis smoker can enjoy. (Buy at least a quarter to ensure some solid sized buds.)
