Effects

While one might expect that a strain with a minty, coffee scent would be energizing, the effects of the Kush Mints high is more so relaxing. The strain nonetheless offers a sativa-like uplifting and cerebral high, though it can be tiring or sleep-inducing due to its deep sense of relaxation. Because of this, users ought to be careful with how much they are consuming and might want to avoid use during busy or task filled days. The high starts off with a tingly sensation, and as it progresses, users will feel waves of calmness throughout their bodies. Kush Mints is a well-balanced though quite potent 50% to 50% indica/sativa strain. Its THC content averages at a relatively high 22% to 24%. Its parent, Animal Mints, which was produced by crossing Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies (Thin Mint GSC) and Fire OG strains, has the same balanced indica to sativa ratio, and is itself a pretty heavy hitter with a THC count ranging between 25% to 32% on average. Its other parent, Bubba Kush, is a cannabis crowd classic. It is a pure indica strain believed to be derived from Hindu Kush, and has a whopping 27% THC potency count. With such heavy-hitters in its familial lineage, there is no wonder why Kush Mints is such a potent strain.

Appearance & Aroma

The buds of the Kush Mints strain are large, chunky and fluffy in appearance. They are forest green in colour with orangey amber pistils, and covered in a dense coating of crystal-like trichomes. Like its name suggests, Kush Mints has a super sharp minty aroma and flavour. Unlike some other mint strains, however, it has a nice balance of another unique, predominant scent and flavour: coffee! The strong aromatic blend of coffee and mint is further accented by notes of wood and earthiness as well as herbs and spices, though upon exhale, the smoke is a sweet and delicious dessert-like flavour, almost like coffee and mint flavoured cookies; a nod to its Cookies genetics and heritage!
