Super Silver Haze

A multi-award winning strain including 1st Place Overall titles two years in a row at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 1998 and 1999, the Super Silver Haze is considered a king amongst sativas! Also known as SSH or SS Haze, the Super Silver Haze strain was developed by breeders at Green House Seed Company in Amsterdam back in the early 90s, though has been in continual development and cultivation since then at Mr. Nice Seedbank. This sativa dominant hybrid was created by crossing the infamous Skunk and Northern Lights strains along with Haze. A West Coast favourite, this beloved Super Silver Haze strain has delightfully spicy and citrus flavours, complementing an amazingly powerful psychoactive high that is backed by upwards of 23% THC! 

Effects of Super Silver Haze

The Super Silver Haze offers an extremely cerebral high and it is relatively long lasting in comparison to other strains, making it a perfect choice for anyone looking for an effective and good quality sativa! The high hits you almost instantly, and it is as fact acting as much as it is hard hitting. Users will feel uplifted as waves of energy and happiness wash over you, leaving you feeling euphoric and quite stoned with a hazy head high. Despite the lack of focus due to the haziness, however, the strain is thought provoking and may help instigate conversation and sociability. As the high progresses, you will also feel energetic physically. Some users report the body high to be heavy and soothing, so Super Silver Haze may be more effective for alleviating chronic pains or aches on certain individuals more than others. A more common characteristic of Super Silver Haze nonetheless, however, is that it is quite effective for nausea, migraines or headaches, stress and depression due to its mentally relaxing and uplifting nature!

THC Content

Super Silver Haze is a sativa dominant hybrid which contains about 18% to 23% THC on average and has a ratio of 80% sativa to 20% indica. Its parent strain, Skunk, also known as Skunk #1, is an indica dominant hybrid with a ratio of 65% to 35% with 15% to 19% THC, 1% CBD and 1% CBN. Its other parent, Northern Lights, is a pure indica strain with 16% to 21% THC, and it is one of the most popular strains on the cannabis market! Lastly, the Haze strain, like its predecessor, is also a sativa dominant hybrid with a ratio of 80% sativa to 20% indica and 14% to 23% THC.

Appearance & Aroma

In terms of appearance, the Super Silver Haze is light, mossy green in colour with lots of amber brown coloured, hair-like pistils. The nugs are piecey and fluffy, similar to popcorn, and have a generously thick coating of crystal trichomes. Citrus lovers will absolutely love the aroma and flavour profiles of this strain. Super Silver Haze still retains the familiar pungent skunkiness, earthiness and spiciness of any good, classic cannabis, but there is also a predominant aroma and flavour of sweet and sour citrus! Upon exhale, users will taste a sour tartness that is delightfully sweet, reminiscent of fresh lemons, and this smoke is nicely complemented by spicy herbs!

    One of my all-time fav Sativa's still going strong, has been in my rotation for a good 20 years.Been smoking this stuff since my high school days... brings back great memories. GS provided me with some of the best quality this strain has to offer. A high-quality bud that breaks out smooth with loads of kief, smooth smoke with a nice pine/earthy flavor profile, relatively light on the throat. Nice uplifting energetic high gets your creative juices flowing and won't leave you stuck moping around looking to pass out. Highly recommended for the Sativa connoisseur.
