Jelly Donut
Mmmmm, donut! This strain will bring out your inner Homer Simpson with its unique flavour profile of delicious citrus, fresh mint and sweet, nutty dough! The Jelly Donut (not to be confused with the Grape Jelly Donut) is an indica hybrid that crosses two legendary strains: the King Louis XIII and Girl Scout Cookies (GSC). With THC levels reaching 23%, this strain offers an uplifting and calming, relaxing high that will have you feeling all sorts of relief, both physically and mentally! Popular for its well rounded effects and tasty flavours, the Jelly Donut is the perfect sweet treat!
Effects
If donuts make you happy, the Jelly Donut strain is like a two in one treat! Not only does it offer delicious flavours that will remind you of that sweet, doughy treat, but it also delivers a long lasting high that is full of euphoria and happiness! The high begins almost immediately with a more cerebral uplift, which will quickly remove negative thoughts and worries from your mind before full blown euphoria settles in. As the high progresses along with your state of happiness, a physical body high will also creep throughout your limbs and put you in a state of deep, calm relaxation! Its strong body high is effective in providing relief from chronic pain, nausea, cramps and aches. The strain also tends to induce a case of the munchies so will help with appetite loss, and in heavier doses, can also assist those struggling with insomnia in getting a good night’s sleep!
THC Content
Jelly Donut is an indica dominant hybrid strain with a ratio of 80% indica to 20% sativa. Its THC levels on average sit between 21% to 23% potency. This strain can be confused with another of a similar name, Grape Jelly Donut, and while also an indica hybrid, this other strain is a cross of Birthday Cake OG and Grape Sherbet. The Jelly Donut, however, has these two legends for parents: King Louis XIII (also known and shortened as King Louis, or Louis XIII) and the world famous Girl Scout Cookies (GSC). The former, King Louis XIII, is typically found and grown as an indica leaning hybrid with a ratio of 70% indica to 30% sativa, though some phenotypes offer a balanced indica/sativa ratio. A cross of OG Kush and LA Confidential, it’s a heavily potent strain with THC levels trending at 24% to 29% potency, and depending on the phenotype, may also offer 1% CBD as well as 1% CBN. Jelly Donut’s other parent, Girl Scout Cookies (GSC), needs little introduction. A multi-award winning strain, it is also an indica hybrid, offering around 28% THC, 1% CBD and 1% CBN with an array of delicious nutty, cookie flavours.
Appearance & Aroma
Jelly Donut nuggets are typically tightly packed, which is characteristic of indicas. They are spade shaped overall, though can have chunky or piecey bits like popcorn. Its colour is predominantly forest green, with long and rusty orange pistils. Its crystal trichomes are tiny though plentiful, giving it a frosty white appearance though may also have undertones of pretty golden hues! Its aromas are fragrant, with overtones of fruit citrus and a minty earthiness. When smoked and exhaled, users will taste that blend of sweet and sour citrus, fresh menthol, as well as classic delicious GSC notes of nutty dough!
