Space Queen

Did somebody say queen? Yaas! The Space Queen is a legendary strain that was originally produced locally by Vic High of the BC Growers Association. Now, it comes in a wide variety of phenotypes, though this OG ought not to be confused with the others! This deliciously fruity strain by Vic High is a well-balanced, sativa-leaning hybrid that was produced by crossing the Romulan and Cinderella 99 strains. Excellent for getting your mood right up on those blue, stress-filled days or for self-medicating in the mornings, Space Queen by Vic High has strong sativa effects that are deeply energizing, joyful and uplifting. Make it your remedy and answer to turning that frown upside down and brighten up your days!

Effects

Space Queen by Vic High is widely sought after for its highly effective remedying effects, and it is a big plus that it offers an amazing and energetic cerebral high. The strain is extremely euphoric and will most definitely get a smile on your face as you enter a state of happiness and reach an elevated mood. These characteristics make Space Queen a popular choice for self-medicating, particularly if users are looking to alleviate fatigue, or symptoms of ADD/ADHD, stress, depression, anxiety and PTSD. The high is nicely hazy, and almost immediately upon smoking, a light body buzz is felt. While users will feel a wave of body relaxation as well, Space Queen is not recommended for severe pains, and is more so best suited for moderate pains or aches like those associated with muscle sores, nausea and headaches or migraines. Due to its energizing effects, this strain is recommended for morning or daytime usage to help you get up and ready for the day ahead.

THC Content

The Space Queen strain by Vic High trends at 23%-28% in THC but can soar as high as a whopping 30%. It is a 50%/50% well-balanced indica/sativa hybrid, but tends to be classified as sativa-dominant due to its strong sativa characteristics. Lab tests have also shown that the strain also carries 0.02% CBN, 0.3-2% CBG, 0.4% THVC, 0.2% CBC, and 0.05% CBL on average. In comparison, Space Queen’s parent, Cinderella 99, is also sativa-dominant and averages at 18%-22% THC, while its other parent, Romulan, another British Columbian grown strain, is a pure indica with 20%-24% THC, 1% CBD and 1% CBN. 

Appearance and Aroma

The buds of Space Queen by Vic High are long in shape, and come in a nice light, pastel-like green with pale orange-brown pistils and a beautiful resinous coating that is fit only for a queen. While its euphoric effects and medical benefits already make this strain worthy of being a crowd favourite, its flavour profile is just another added bonus! Because of its wide variety of phenotypes, there can be variations of Space Queen’s aromas and flavours which include citrus, pineapple, herbals, florals and spices, though this legendary creation by Vic High particularly features a delectable and aromatic rare blend of sweet cherries, apples and vanilla. Upon smoking, one can taste the fruity sweetness and tartness of cherries that are complemented by musky floral undertones!

    I have gotten a little more critical with my reviews since posting my first one on this strain back in April of 2019. Picked this bad boy (girl?) strain up for 4/20 last year and it had an intoxicating, unique smell that I haven't found again since. That order had some issues, namely the excessive wild leaf each bud had, but it's smoke was smooth, strong and top notch.
    Unfortunately, this latest round loses the most unique aspect of the year-ago crop - it's aroma. It still smells nice, and the trim and flower actually looks quite a bit nicer, but I am sad that the unique aroma of this flower was seemingly a one-time thing. I will continue to buy Space Queen because it's awesome, fingers crossed that the next offering hits it out of the park.

    A side note, I've recently been looking at other herbs to vape with my mflb, both alone and mixed with my bud. I've only tried peppermint, and it isn't supposed to alter anything, I'm simply stating that trace amounts of peppermint may have been vaporized.

    To continue, the taste of this flower is fairly light. A nice taste, but nothing stands out. The immediate impact was a buzz around my body, followed by empty mindedness. After this, however, the buzz becomes a steady relaxing vibration. Energy improves, although a controllable energy. A good flower to have a nice awake feeling high while walking around, cleaning, listening to music. Or (not from experience...yet) possibly good for netflix and chilling.

    Bit of a strange one here. As has been mentioned, mine was pretty leafy (absolutely not 10% bud 90% leaf like someone mentioned though) and the smell was very outdoor/barndoor smelling so I was worried based on first impression/bag appeal. Thankfully the taste was much better (kind of a pungent apple/cheese) and what really saved it for me was the high... very strong fast acting high and can definitely feel that high THC %. First time I ripped this stuff it kicked my ass pretty hard; Space Queen is an apt title because it sent me to the moon! Outside of the leaf & smell issue, which may just be an issue with the batch, this stuff is killer. Buds very sticky and absolutely covered in frost with a neon-green appearance. Despite the mentioned issues I will probably try this again due to how good the high was. Would be a 5/5 if not for the issues.

    Maybe I got some of the bottom buds? It happens.
    The good about this bud is it's sticky and the high is quite delightful! I'll still give 4 stars because of that aspect.
